Preventative Measures Go Above And Beyond At See Grins RV Repair In Gilroy

photo 1

A customer purchased a new ElkRidge 5th Wheel RV with a rear rack for extra storage. During See Grins RV Repair routine post-sale inspection, Smitty noticed that the storage rack was attached too close to the back wall of the RV. When the rack was folded up the motion of the Motor Home traveling down the road would cause the rack to bang back and forth against the wall while the driver would never hear the damaging noise.
During the customer's first outing there would be noticeable scratchinggouging and eventually the banging rack would create a hold and crack the fiberglass wall. The cracks would grow, leak water, rot wood,  damage the floor and loose overall structural strength.  A timely repair of this damage would require at best a time consuming and costly replacement of fiberglass, which could be covered by the factory warranty.

With over 35 years experience in the Motor Home industry, Smitty knew the best action for all parties would be to fabricate preventive measures so this problem would never come about. The solution required increasing the storage rack stop position with metal and welding. After the fix was completed and painted, the modification looked like it came straight from the factory.
While this debit of valuable time and resources was put on the books of See Grins RV Service & Repair Center, it was the the most thoughtful action promising outstanding customer care that See Grins RV has a reputation for delivering.
Believe it or not, you can't loose when you purchase your RV from See Grins RV in Gilroy.1247681-0-1245001
